Gotta give it up to my man, Luqman Brown (above, center): This is a great idea which, if it works well, could be the future for modus operandi of the very near future. Here's the deal:
Luqman's latest group (don't worry, Funkface is still alive and well!), Dope Sagittarius, will be having a release party tonight at 8pm. Now, if you're in Harlem or the Bronx, you can tune into 91.9FM, WHCR. If not, you can check out the festivities from home. At 8pm, point your browser to
http://stickam.com/damatrixradio
and you'll be able to get your party on with Dope Sagittarius fans in Harlem, NY; Huntsville, AL; Los Angeles, and beyond.
Tonight's program:
- A DJ performance, feat. Austrian record producer DJ Ill Phil who will spin new tunes from Dope Sagittarius' upcoming album
- The world-premiere of the Dope Sagittarius video "PUNKRAPSTARZ"
- A special burlesque performance by DAME CUCHIFRITA of BROWN GIRLS BURLESQUE, especially choreographed to Dope Sagittarius' song "Rosie the Robot"
You can even comment on what you've seen and heard and the band will respond live!
If anybody attends (I won't be able to) drop a comment here and let me know what you thought of the experience.
