My wife sent me this photo yesterday. A friend had forwarded it to her with a caption that said–and I’m paraphrasing–What must it feel like to have the expectations and hopes of an entire community on your shoulders?
It’s kinda like this: On one hand, he’s been buoyed by the historical moment at which this country (and the world) finds itself. On the other, the hopes of many (not all) Black folks and many people from all around the world are his alone to carry.
I don’t know how you feel, but to me, that’s what makes this photo so poignant.
