Amul 9 brings their not-so-strange vibrations from the Atlanta hardcore
Had a chance to catch these guys at the last Afropunk Epic/Smash showcase. They're doing what they call "Kemetic hardcore". Their lyrics are conscious, political and fiercely pro-black. Definitely a groove-heavy hardcore band. In a live setting, they might want to ensure they have a good sound person with them: At various points during their set, Zoser's (above, r) lyrics got lost in music. Part of the challenge here is that he's packing a lot into the songs, lyrically speaking, on top of the intense drums-bass-guitar action.
Overall, I'd say there's a lot of potential here. Let's see how they develop.
