Check out this week’s lineup at Weeksville. Music starts at 6pm, which should give you plenty of time to recover from rockin’ out Friday at Tamar-kali’s show.
This show should be subtitled “Seattle in the house,” since both artists are either from there or based there. Kimberly Nichole is becoming known as the “puffy haired tower of power” for her exciting vocals and energetic stage show. One reviewer noted that her music sits squarely on the “edgier side of the R&B the fence with rock, punk, and hip hop soul sounds”.
Shabazz Palaces is the new group formed by Palaceer Lazaro, formerly known as Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler, one third of the 90s rap trio Digable Planets. Pitchfork describes Shabazz Palaces as an “enigmatic Seattle avant-rap project.” We’ll see, wont’ we? Best thing is, you’ll get to see, hear and decide for yourself on Saturday.
As ever, the music starts at 6pm.
