A few months ago, I interviewed Keith Josef Adkins on my WRFB show, Sounds from the New Black Imagination, and he talked about the genesis of The New Black Fest, and event started to support and nurture emerging playwrights from across the African diaspora. I’m a bit late in reminding you to check out this Festival, which started on October 9 and is running through October 17 at Bric Studios. Check out the calendar for the remaining plays, performances and discussions that will be highlighted.
All events are free, but it’s a good idea to register here.
If you’re around on Thursday, check out the opening reception, which starts at 7pm. I mentioned this event specifically because, well, I get to jump behind the decks and put on my DJ hat. Should be fun.
