Yeah, you read that right. Now, if you read about how the BRC Orchestra did a thorough tribute to our late friend Tom Terrell by performing one of his favorite albums, Steel Pulse’s True Democracy, in it’s entirety–if you’re kicking yourself for missing that, then you know what you need to do.
Here’s the deal. This event is part of DanceAfrica 2012, and the BRC Orchestra will be back performing songs from The Whispers, Shalamar, Lakeside, Dynasty, Babyface, Midnight Star, Carrie Lucas, and other artists from the Solar (formerly Soul Train) Records catalog. Not only will they salute the Don Cornelius, the man behind the culture-rocking TV show, but I hear they’ve also worked in a tribute to the one and only Ms. Donna Summer. DJ Idlemind will spin more Soul Train classics afterwards, turning BAMCafe into a big ol’ dancefloor till the wee hours of the morning.
Oh, and did we mention that this bad boy is FREE?
10PM, people.
