Just get here early for this. Otherwise, you’ll be real mad when you have to hear this show from the BAM lobby. Acoustics for the Cafe ain’t that great down there.
But let’s back up: Leon Ware has written or produced songs for a host of boldface names. This includes seminal albums like Marvin Gaye‘s I Want You. He also wrote “I Wanna Be Where You Are” for a young Michael Jackson. The long list of other credits includes songs for Maxwell (“Sumthin’ Sumthin'”), Minne Ripperton, Madonna, Keb’ Mo, Todd Rundgren, The Isley Brothers, G-Unit, The Main Ingredient, John Legend. Yeah, I could go on. But you get the idea: The brotha is incredible.
And he’ll be backed up by Boston Fielder’s punk-jazz shit disturbers, Muthawit!
Here’s Leon in Amsterdam doing the song he wrote for Maxwell, “Sumthin’ Sumthin'”:
Again, Saturday’s show is FREE, so show up early to get a seat.
