Election Day is just over a month away. On the off chance that you haven’t been paying attention, this year’s election is shaping up to be the most consequential one in our lifetimes. Seriously, fam, y’all gotta vote. Do you really want to say “President Trump”? More on that later.
If you haven’t already done so, GET REGISTERED! The New York Times put together a great listing of voter registration deadlines. Note that most states do not allow you to register and vote on the same day, so you can’t wait til the last minute. In fact, many states have registration deadlines coming up soon.
Also, please check to make sure you’re registered correctly, as there’s a lot of GOP skullduggery going on. I’ve often said, the only real cases of voter fraud are what’s being perpetrated on by the Republican party, thanks to the Supreme Court’s 2013 gutting of the Voting Rights Act. For example, the Secretary of State in my home state of Ohio is actively purging “infrequent” voters from the rolls. Huh? To quote DJ Khaled, “They don’t want you to vote.”
